Update
Nugget of Truth:
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing." James 1:22-25 (ESV)
Doin' Well:
My summer in Chicago is finishing up just fine. My internship with System Parking has gone better than I expected. I managed a valet garage near Michigan Ave. for most of my internship—and that in and of itself was good experience. I was also able to work in a couple of other departments at the corporate office which allowed me to see the company from more of a macro level.
I am in Chicago for another week. From here I will go back home to New Hampshire for a week then I will fly out to Arizona to help Chick-fil-A with a grand opening of a new store in the Phoenix area. I'm pretty excited about that opportunity.
I go back to school after about 9 days of helping Chick-fil-A. This next year is going to be a GREAT one. I'm going to be crazy busy with dorm life, classes, ministry, work, etc. but I am looking forward to it!

I is going to tell Trevor a "SCARY" STORY
My nephew Camden is convinced he can tell stories with his hands. He loves his new brother so much that he takes the time to tell him a scary story. This video is him telling his new “littlest” brother a "scary" story without using words…only his hands.
If the video is not showing above follow the below steps:
1. Take a deep breath (through your nose out your mouth)
2. Find the mouse which should be located near your keyboard.
3. Find the URL below these instructions.
4. Repeat step one
5. Highlight the URL using the mouse.
6. Click the right button on the mouse over the highlighted area.
7. Select "copy"
8. Repeat step one
9. Right click the mouse and select "paste".
10. Click the left top botton on the mouth
11. Press enter on your keyboard
12. If you have finished these steps and you are still reading this, then the process failed.

Time Changer
Today I watched a movie called "Time Changer." It is a Christian movie produced back in 2002. I am not a movie critic guru; however, I did think the movie was well done.
The movie was about a Bible professor from the late 18th century that was transported to year 2000. This Bible professor was shocked at the moral decline in the culture. The movie did have some humorous elements in it as well. The movie was cheesy in some sense; however, I still think it was a pretty good movie with a solid message.

A Nugget of Truth:
“But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.".” Mark 10:43b-45 ESV
Past Happenings:
I won $100!
It all started as a practical joke.
Maranatha students are always being told to be nice to the visitors and to get to know them a little bit, especially if they are in your room. Those that know me know that I love getting to know people. My whole family is like that.
For Example:
About a month ago, an old lady called my phone and she had the wrong number. I had the time to talk to her so I held a conversation with her for about 20 minutes.
It is hard sometimes to make time for visitors when there are 100 other things that need to be done.
My friends and I actually convinced the visitors that we have class in the dorm…and I was the professor.
The looks on their faces during my “class lecture” was priceless.
We told the visitors that the video camera was used to stream the video to the girls’ side of campus for the distant education class…they totally bought all of it.
I edited the video and entered it into a competition at school and won the $100.
The moral of the story
When you mix a practical joke with getting to know the visitors, it is easier to find 10 minutes to give them a good time at MBBC.

SLJ-ing into the summer
At the end of each semester dorm students undergo the grueling "white glove." Pretty much everything in their room must be dusted and clean. This year I was able to help check for violations for white glove. One of the floor leaders could not attend due to a work conflict. As punishment, the rest of the leadership SLJ-ed his room.
SLJ-ing:
At Maranatha SLJ stands for Student Life Journal. It is a manual (now available only on the school intranet) that list the rules, regulations, and some of the policies students must abide by while enrolled. As a joke, we decided to take old copies of the SLJ and "decorate" a clean white gloved room...it was great!
This Summer
I will be working with System Parking in downtown Chicago. System operates many of the parking garages in Chicago. I will be working in operations and with the marketing director. I am looking forward to this experience. Working with them will allow me to gain experience with a different company in a completely different industry compared to where I have worked in the past.
